For a leading Italian company operating in the customs, logistics, and international transportation sector, we are seeking a Customs Operations Manager

Main activities

 
  • Ensure and oversee the correct application of Italian and European customs regulations.
  • Manage and supervise Customs Compliance and Customs Valuation matters, providing expert support in the most complex cases.
  • Coordinate the operational and organizational activities typically associated with a Customs Broker.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve customs procedures and processes, promoting high standards of efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency, coordinating customs audits, inspections, and verification activities.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management and department leaders to support business needs and objectives.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Customs team, fostering professional growth and capability development.
  • Support business development through a consultative approach, understanding clients' needs and translating them into operational and strategic customs solutions.

 

Requirements

Must have

  • Proven experience in the operational management of customs clearance processes;
  • Sound knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements;
  • Ability to independently manage import/export customs procedures;
  • Knowledge of customs documentation and clearance procedures;
  • Ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, Customs Brokers, and Customs Authorities;
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Good command of IT tools and customs/logistics management systems;


Nice to have

  • Customs Broker License (Italian Customs Declarant License).
  • Good knowledge of English;

Compensation Package

 

Permanent full-time employment under the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Commerce Sector (CCNL Commercio), Executive Level ("Quadro"), with a gross annual salary ranging between €45,000 and €50,000.
