Our client is a dynamic Italian company based in Bologna with strong production growth, belonging to a primary European group operating in the sector of automatic machines for product quality control, in food and non-food applications. As part of a turnover process, we are looking for the new
SALES & MARKETING MANAGER / HEAD OF SALES
Reporting to the Managing Director he is in charge of the following tasks:
- Sales team management including strategy definition, regular meetings, support to negotiations, CRM management, bonus scheme management, and new sales staff recruitment and coaching
- Direct sales management in the assigned area: lead management, customer meetings, technical clarification, quotation, negotiation, order finalization and reporting on the CRM
- Agents/dealers network management and development including scouting, contract negotiation, sales support, trainings, commissions/discounts negotiation, hot projects follow up, test lab development, sales forecast
- Global accounts management, in collaboration with area managers
- Formation and execution/supervision of business development initiatives and direct support to the Managing Director for the strategic plan definition and implementation, notably with respect to sales planning and market analysis
- Annual plan/budget preparation (sales and marketing), regular reporting and forecasts
- Supervision of communication & promotion materials and activities (exhibitions, events, product launches, campaigns, presentations, brochures, press releases, website content)
- Collaboration on the scheduling of test lab activity and support to Product Management in particular concerning catalogue, pricing and customer requirements collection and presentation.
Required background and skills:
- Consolidated and successful 8/10 years’ experience in sales of products with high technical content in international markets and at least 3 years with team leading roles (any experience in sectors relating to food processing equipment or packaging systems will be considered as a preferential element)
- Master's degree in engineering (electronics or mechanical), economics or agro-food technologies
- Excellent command of English (and Italian). Other languages will be considered as a plus
- Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in managing complex legal and commercial negotiation cycles (including use of CRM tools)
- Solid business and financial acumen associated with ability to manage accurate executive reporting
- Strong people management skills
- Reliability, passion, target-orientation and ability to work under stress
- Availability to travel also frequently to Italy, Europe and in the rest of the world.
